PREVIOUS EVENTS

The Skittles Fun Night at the Swan in Stalbridge proved to be a great success with the organiser panicking the week before with numbers dropping like flies, but all was not lost, last minute bookings and surprise visitors made up the numbers to 22. Andy the landlord cooked up a storm with homemade steak and ale pie, baby potatoes and a selection of vegetables. Oh, and gravy. There was a homemade vegetable quiche as well. Prizes were awarded to the top and bottom scorers and a raffle was held in aid of the Weldmore Village Farm. Even though the event was organised by the Oddfellows, they were vastly outnumbered by u3a members.

As part of a History Tour, members of Blackmore Vale u3a attend an interesting talk recently on the discovery of the bronze age 'Stalbridge Hoard', which included a gem encrusted rapier.
